Sustainable Floral Design Workshop

Sustainable floral.jpg

About the event: Arranging colorful flowers calms the mind and feeds the soul - what better way to celebrate spring than to arrange beautiful locally-grown flowers inside our magical garden? Join sustainable floral designer Molly Culver of Molly Oliver Flowers for a hands-on workshop. You’ll learn how to source locally grown flowers around NYC and make a basic arrangement at home.
Together, we'll walk the garden and discuss what is in bloom in the garden and the seasonal blooms plucked from NYC and the surrounding region, review design tips, flower care, and devote the majority of our workshop to enjoying our time arranging!

About Molly Oliver Flowers: Molly is an earth lover, a floral designer, farmer, and passionate supporter for social, environmental and racial justice. She has farmed flowers and trained hundreds of adults in sustainable growing techniques since 2011, as co-Manager of The Youth Farm. In 2012, she launched Molly Oliver Flowers in an effort to marry her love the planet, local farmers, and creating with flowers. Molly Oliver Flowers sources most flowers, foliages and plants from a network of incredible regional growers, and has a strong emphasis on waste reduction, re-using on non-biodegradables, and strict avoidance of toxic chemicals. We are constantly humbled and inspired by the beauty of the natural world, and love to call upon the flowers, fruits and foliage thriving in any season to capture a mood, create an experience, and bring incomparable beauty to any event.

Space is very limited, to register email gpcitizensclub@gmail.com.  Cost is $10 to cover the cost of flowers. Please help spread the word!
